Talk About Luck!

February 26, 2018

In 2009, the  Cantini museum in Marseille presented an exhibition of 20 works by Edgar Degas.  On December 31st of that year, one of the works, Les Choristes, went missing.  Since there were no signs of a break-in authorities assumed it was either an inside job or someone hid inside the museum and after it closed they made off with the work.

Well, the other day, during a random check on a bus, French customs officers opened a suitcase in the luggage compartment and found the missing pastel … talk about luck! Of course, nobody on the bus claimed the suitcase we theirs.
