Here is an interesting exhibition featuring an artist who very few, outside the art world, have heard of – Francisco Oller (1833-1917). The exhibition will feature 40 of Oller’s works alongside some of his contemporaries: Frederic Church, Winslow Homer, Corot, Courbet, Pissarro, Cezanne, Monet, Caillebotte and Sisley.
The exhibit, curated by Richard Aste of the Brooklyn Museum and professor Edward Sullivan (New York University), will run through September 6 at the Blanton Museum of Art and then move to the Brooklyn Museum from October 2 through January 3, 2016.
