Technology Sheds Light on 6 Great Art Mysteries

John Delaney, the senior imaging scientist at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., is scanning  the museum’s works with new technologies that allow him to see not only what is beneath the painting but between each layer of paint as well.

Delaney uses high precision x-rays, lasers, microscopes, and software that exposes quite a few mysteries lying below the surface of the art.  Click the link below to view some of his findings!
