Police in southern Italy have seized almost 600 illegally excavated artifacts intended to be sold on the black market. These well preserved artifacts included, ancient Greek ceramics ranging from a large Greek krater estimated to be worth around €150,000 to small pieces valued at €1,500, Etruscan and Corinthian objects, rare coins, and several Roman lanterns. All the artifacts were to sell for a total of about €2million.
