This story left me shaking my head in disbelief. It seems that someone in Los Angeles left two paintings by Jack Armstrong, Primalsun #1 and Imagine #3 AKA Elvis Painting (supposedly worth millions of dollars – really?) in a car that they parked on the street for the night. Are you kidding me? Someone actually left millions of dollars worth of art in a parked car? For some reason, this sounds like a publicity stunt.
According to the artist’s website (yes, he is still alive), he founded the Cosmic Extensionalism movement — first time I have heard about that one. His site claims he has sold work for millions of dollars. Maybe someday I will meet one of his collectors and find out why?
Anyway, in case you find the stolen work, please call the LAPD at (310) 482-6490 or (877) 527-3247.
By the way, back in 2018, his painting Steve McQueen Le Mans was stolen from a home in Dallas, Texas. That one is also still missing.
