Here is a nice story from the Dark Side of the Art World. Spanish police have recovered 3 of the 5 Francis Bacon paintings that were stolen back in 2015. According to the article, a “team” (not sure what team) in London were contacted by someone in Sitges, Spain, looking to verify a work. After receiving images, and determining it was one of the stolen paintings, authorities were able to track down the photographer by identifying the camera that was used … oh how technology has changed our world. Arrests were made and hopefully this will help them recover the last two. In case you are curious, the value for the group of Bacons has been pegged at approximately $29M!
