We recently covered Sotheby’s sneaker sale and the fact that before it ended, Miles Nadal made a private offer and bought all but one pair for about $850K (seems the seller of the Nike Waffle Racing Flat, Moon Shoe, wanted to let it run). Guess they made the right move since that one pair, which was estimated to bring $110-$160K, sold for $437,500 (a world record for a pair of old sneakers) — in case you are wondering, Mr. Nadal was the successful bidder.
