Francis Bacon’s “Three Studies of Lucian Freud” may become one of the most expensive modern artworks ever sold at auction. Up for its first time at auction on November 12th at Christie’s, NYC, specialists believe it may fetch close to or above $100 million. “Triptych,” Bacon’s current auction record, was sold in 2008 for $86 million.
