British Museum launches drawing exhibition as art students “more likely to have a blog than a sketchbook”

August 8, 2016

Really is amazing how art education has changed in many art schools. The ‘art of drawing’ was once a must for students … now it is a rarity.  Schools like the Ani Art Academies, who still teach drawing to every student, are few and far between.  In an attempt to shed more light on its importance, the British Museum is loaning 70 of its most important drawings for its largest touring exhibition … Lines of Thought (which will open at the Poole Museum on September 3).

Included in the exhibit will be works by Michelangelo, da Vinci, Degas, Cezanne, Matisse and many others.
