According to their website, RXART is a nonprofit organization with a mission to aid in the healing process for children in pediatric hospitals through visual art. They have commissioned contemporary artists, such as Jeff Koons, Rob Pruitt, Urs Fischer, Laura Owens, and Sam Falls, among others, to transform the hospital walls into works of art. Recently, the organization received a $1 million donation from the Gerard B. Lambert Foundation and hope that these funds will allow them to commission at least 5 major works by contemporary and emerging artists each year.
