Here is another copyright suit … this one involving the Viennese nonprofit Archiv Franz West and Gagosian Gallery. The suit accused the gallery of damaging the late artist’s legacy by planning to use “unauthorized” versions of his work in their exhibition. The Archiv claims to be the copyright holder of the works and states that the works in question came into the gallery’s possession through a foundation set up 5 days before the artist’s death.
