Will Picasso take the lead in 2015?

The contemporary, impressionist and modern sales in New York City is known to cater to the extremely wealthy collectors that will battle it out on the auction block for the latest blue-chip work on the market.  This time around, Picasso’s “Women of Algiers” may steal the show, becoming the most expensive painting sold at auction.

 

With an estimate to bring over $140 million, Picasso may bump Francis Bacon’s triptych, “Three Studies of Lucian Freud” which sold for $142.4 million in 2013, down to second….
