With the world continuing to face heath concerns from Coronavirus, many of us are now WFH… that is, Working From Home. While that may not be the biggest adjustment for many artists who regularly find themselves secluded in their studios for hours on end, that is certainly not the case for graffiti artists. Enter, Banksy. This household name is embracing the #quarantinelife and doing a little redecorating by defacing his own walls. On Wednesday, he unveiled via Instagram, his newest work which was understandably captioned My wife hates it when I work from home. The work is essentially an installation where aside from simple renderings of his iconic rats, he has manipulated objects to appear as if the rodents are wreaking havoc on the loo – squirting toothpaste and soap, toilet paper strewn about… I can certainly understand why Mrs. Banksy would prefer a more literal interpretation of “street art.” On a side note… it does have me wondering how it may impact his property value!
