Source: Marguerite – Léon Richet (1847-1907) was a well known 19th century French Barbizon landscape artist who often included small figures in his work. Very few of his large figure paintings have appeared on the market; but when they do, they are hotly contested. We are please to offer this major example … a painting that was most likely exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1881.
