These “incentives” seem to be things that have always been in place. If you have the really hot ‘goods’, you can often strike a very attractive deal. In addition, the smaller salerooms have always been ready to cut fees and commissions to get material. The upcoming season will be very interesting — will the big rooms entice enough collectors to sell? My feeling is the fall sales will be much thinner.
