Possible lost Caravaggio painting found in an attic in France

April 18, 2016

A $135 million valuation was slapped on the latest artwork “attic-find.” According to reports, a yet to be authenticated work by Caravaggio, one of the greatest Italian Old Masters, was hidden in the attic of a home in the south of France.  Believed to have been painted in Rome in about 1604-05, “Judith Beheading Holofernes” may be one of the most important paintings to be discovered in over 20 years (if it turns out to be an original work), says experts.
