Alanis Morissette & LL COOL J are Synesthetes

All of the works in our upcoming exhibition featuring the Ani Art Academies will be inspired by the term synesthesia.  Derived from the Ancient Greek word for together “syn” and sensation “aisthesis”, synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon in which certain senses (ie. noise or smell) create an automatic stimulation of another sensory (ie. sight or touch).  Coincidentally, on last night’s Late Late Show with James Corden, guests Alanis Morisette and LL COOL J talk about being synesthetes. Morisette sees colors in response to noise and LL COOL J sees shapes — check out the video below.
