Source: Le Grenouillère – we just added this amazing work by the 20th century School of Paris artist Gen Paul (1895-1975) to our available online inventory. The scene depicted – La Grenouillère – was a popular middle-class resort consisting of a spa, a boating establishment and a floating café located on the Seine near Bougival. The location might sound familiar, since both Monet and Renoir recognized La Grenouillère as an ideal subject. Monet’s Bain à la Grenouillère is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Renoir’s La Grenouillère is in the Nationalmuseum, Sweden.
