Shepard Fairey: Detroit police issue arrest warrant for artist

June 26, 2015

For the Detroit police, at some point enough is enough and just because you want to deface private and public property does not mean you have the right to.  A warrant for Fairey’s arrest was filed in 36th District Court on Friday.  He faces two counts of malicious destruction of property, which carry a maximum penalty of five years in jail, plus fines that could exceed $10,000.

We have all read may stories about the British artist Banksy who does the same thing … the only differences seem to be that nobody knows who Banksy is and more importantly, after he tags your wall it is like winning the lottery … his works can sell of hundreds of thousands of dollars – here is a 2013 article from FORBES.

Looks like it all comes down the the monetary value! For more on this story, click HERE and HERE.
