Source: A British Frigate (thought to be the HMS Shannon) Leaving Plymouth – Here is one by the 18th / 19th century British marine artist Thomas Luny (1759-1837) that we sold in 2011.  Luny, who was a student of Francis Holman, exhibited his first work at the Society of Artists in 1777 and in 1780 began exhibiting at the Royal Academy (RA); he continued to exhibit at the RA until his death in 1837.
