Sotheby’s has set a £30 million estimate for a set of self-portrait paintings by Francis Bacon to be auctioned off in July. The works were bought by a private collector around 40 years ago and have never been seen by the public. According to the Telegraph, experts knew of the works but did not know where they were or who had purchased them soon after they were completed.
