I think this article is pretty awesome… We recently had Eric Alexander Santoli in the gallery talking about a new take on reproductions: tintypes. Similar to the daguerreotype (the first form of photography) Eric and his friend Christopher- Calvin Pollard are exploring the medium with new and old works of art. The reproduction leaves you with an “old-timely charm” version of the work and it is beautiful. Below is an example of our good friend, Anthony Waichulis’s Travelogue,” 2008 reproduced as a tintype.
