Catholic church to clamp down on religious art theft– this is really sad … now we will be lucky to see copies of the original works of art. This past August, Madonna with St John the Evangelist by Guercino – estimated to be worth £5 million – was stolen after alarms failed to go off in the church of San Vincenzo.
