The Baltimore Museum of Art Opens Its New American Wing– a face life for the museum which can now show the heavy influence Europe had on many American artists.

 

Thomas Cole (American, born England, 1801-1848). ‘A Wild Scene,’ 1831-1832<br></p><p>Cole’s wall-size work aims to show a seemingly untouched valley populated only by a few rough-looking deer hunters. Cole painted the so-called American panorama while he was in Florence, Italy.
