The Paris Art Scene Goes Modern

October 14, 2014

The Paris Art Scene Goes Modern– According to Kelly Crow and Ruth Bender of The Wall Street Journal — after decades of enduring a gilded but fusty reputation, Paris is set to attract the crème de la crème of the contemporary-art scene this fall, thanks to a series of high-profile museum openings later this month. These include a glassy, Frank Gehry-designed museum ensconced in a park, a newly renovated home for the world’s largest Pablo Picasso collection and a contemporary reimagining of the centuries-old mint, the Monnaie de Paris, that once issued France’s currency.
