Iconic photographer, Jim Cummins, is best known for his photographs that were used on vinyl album covers from the late 60’s to early 80’s. His work is a who’s who of music legends; Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Stevie Wonder, The Who, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner… the list can go on all day, he’s credited on over 900 album covers.
Until now, Cummins masterful collection of 2,500 images of the world’s most famous musicians has gone unappreciated, tucked away in a basement. With the help of Bob Pokress and his digital restoration company, Cummins body of work is coming to life one negative at a time. While the article makes no mention of an exhibit, it would be hard for me to believe that something is not in the works.
