Tate to return Constable painting looted by Nazis

March 28, 2014

Tate to return Constable painting looted by Nazis  – another story about a looted work of art that ended up in a museum’s collection; however, this time the museum (The Tate) will return it to the heirs of Baron Ferenc Hatvany — from whom the work was stolen.

The most interesting part of this story is that the painting is listed on the University of Oxford’s looted art registry and the Tate never checked.
