Near Barmouth, North Wales. here is a spectacular landscape by the 19th century British Victorian artist Henry John Boddington (1811-1865) that we sold back in the 1980s. This particular painting was probably exhibited at the Royal Society of British Artists in 1858 under the title The Windings of the Wye, An Autumnal Noon.
Boddington was a member of the Williams family of artists and the brother of Edward Charles Williams. He changed his last name in an effort not to be confused with other members of the family … he had four brothers, all of whom were artists.
