Well, the competition presented their sale this evening and the results were real strong. Top lot was a Pissarro … £19.68M ($32M) … $32M for a Pissarro – WOW! Van Gogh hits £16.9M ($27.5M) and a Picasso, with a £1.8-£2.5M estimate, brings £10.4M ($16.9M) — this was a gouache on paper. Of the 89 works offered 10 did not sell (88.8%) and the total take was £163.4M ($266.6M) … impressive numbers.
