Tate Britain to let visitors view art at night using remote-controlled robots

February 8, 2014

When the lights go out at the Tate Britain, a new museum tour will begin.  The museum created a contest to help “enhance public enjoyment of art.”   The contest winners, “The Workers,” have proposed a project that will allow online visitors the ability to tour the galleries via remote control robots equipped with lights and cameras.  The Tate has awarded the winners £10,000 ($16,410 USD) in prize money and an additional £60,000 ($98,460 USD) to construct the project that should begin this summer.
