Judge blocks plans to move Picasso painting from Four Seasons

February 11, 2014

Judge blocks plans to move Picasso painting from Four Seasons for fear that it will ‘crack like potato chips’ if not handled properly.  A painted curtain by Pablo Picasso, which has hung in the hallway of the Four Seasons Restaurant needs to remain in place.  The owners of the building planned to remove it so the wall behind it could be repaired.  The New York Landmarks Conservancy (the owners of the work) claim that moving it might destroy it.  The real question is: does the wall really need to be repaired? Right now it goes nowhere.
