Tonight saw the second of several sales featuring art from the Contemporary side of the coin and as usual, the results were impressive. The sale featured 57 works, of which 47 found buyers (82.5%) and the total take was £87.97M ($144.6M). Top seller was a Gerhard Richter at £17.4M ($28.6M — estimate was in excess of £15M). Rounding out the top three were works by Twombly and Warhol. The Lucian Freud (shown below) took 7th place at £2.99M ($4.9M – est £2.5-£3.5M)
