November 20, 2013

The Vatican holds many questions after the newly restored fresco’s in the Catacombs of Priscilla  were unveiled yesterday. The miles long cemetery under northern Rome is known to be home to the earliest known image of the Madonna and Child dating back to 230-240 A.D.  The controversy over the restored fresco’s arise when imagery of women priests were found decorating the catacomb! According to the Vatican, priesthood is restricted to men, arguing that Jesus solely chose men as his apostles.
