‘Exquisite’ Rothschild Prayerbook set to fetch over $12m – a fabulous Book of Hours from 1505 will be offered for sale during the Old Master sales in NYC this January. The book was stolen by the Nazis from the Rothschild and returned to the Austrian branch of the family in 1999 … the family sold it the same year for $13.4M. Now it will be offered with an estimate of $12M-$18M … it will be interesting to see what it brings.
