Norman Rockwell’s “Sport” bought for over $1 million at Sotheby’s, NYC, auction earlier this year has gone missing. The work had been placed in storage at Welpak Art Moving and Storage in Queens, NY. The storage facility claims to have “top-notch security, with an armed response available if necessary.” Clearly their “top-notch” was not good enough. The NYPD is seeking public assistance for any information that may lead to the recovery of the stolen artwork.
