Renowned internationally for his captivating work. Mike currently serves as Professor of Illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). He previously held the position of Distinguished Visiting Artist at the School of Visual Arts in Oklahoma City University's Petree College of Arts and Sciences. Based now in historic Savannah, Georgia, Mike maintains his studio where he undertakes commissions from across the United States.
Mike has had the distinct honor of painting some of the most important men and women in the United States and relishes the relationships that he has developed through the process of painting their portraits. He has collaborated with global corporations such as Disney, Proctor and Gamble, and RJR Nabisco, to create some of the world’s most iconic images such as Mr. Clean, Simba of the Lion King, and the like.
Mike's artistic journey is rich with diversity and acclaim. He also holds the claim of being the most celebrated artist in the Oklahoma State Capitol with more than 45 historic paintings and portraits throughout. Notably, his artwork also adorns packages of Celestial Seasonings Teas, and he boasts an impressive portfolio of over 300 covers for leading publishers nationwide.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mike's unwavering view remains: "The details help tell the story." This ethos permeates not only his artwork but also his roles as a teacher, husband, and father.
