Bright Eyes

Oil on board
7 x 5 inches

The painting was inspired by the Richard Adams book, Watership Down. The title for the work comes from the song penned by Art Garfunkel for the movie adaptation (which is why I felt it might be appropriate for Synesthesia). The quote behind the shadow box, on the slate, is part of this passage from the book:

“All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.”
