Cabin Interior

Oil on panel

Cabin Interior - The painting, Cabin Interior, is my interpretation of a masculine space. I decided to imagine an ideal space for my husband. The interior is a cozy log cabin with a dark leather couch, stone fireplace, and a deer statue on the mantel.

Cabin Exterior - For the painting Cabin Exterior, I created my interpretation of a feminine place. I imagined an ideal space for myself- a warm and sunny exterior. There is a weather-worn white bench in the sun surrounded by potted plants and a gardening trowel. The exterior is covered with climbing roses like my grandmother used to grow.

Even though each place is unique, they are linked. This is reflected in the similar titles and connections between the compositions. For instance, the rose vines from Cabin Exterior are visible in the window of Cabin Interior. Also, the fireplace and fire from Cabin Interior can be seen through the window of the Cabin Exterior.
