It's Alive

The inspiration for “It’s Alive” is taken from one of my favorite childhood memories - putting together and painting model kits. From what I remember I really didn't have the patience of gluing model kits perfectly together or having the correct colors, I just wanted to play with them immediately after assembly and let my imagination go wild. Unfortunately the majority of them didn't survive… As I grew older I would still dabble in a few kits here and there but it wasn't until the Heroes, Villains Myth & Legends that I recreated a favorite pastime and my love of trompe l'oeil. I found a model kit of Frankenstein’s monster, he's an all around fascinating story written about a man/monster that was created from various human body parts and brought to life by lighting. My composition resembles what my hobby table looks like after a new kit is assembled and painted. An added touch was including the spruce tree around the composition; it really helped glued the composition together.
