The Ciguapa is a popular Dominican myth that tells the tale of a wild woman who lives in the mountains with dark hair so long that it cloaks her naked body, and feet facing the opposite direction to mislead those who pursue her tracks. She can be found in streams and rivers during a crescent moon, and can only be tracked by a polydactyl dog. It is said she possesses magical powers that makes men fall in obsessive love which they can’t escape until his dying day.
