and &#8220;Amazing Fantasy&#8221; No. 15, the first appearance of Spider-Man, to build an addition to her house to store her massive collection of comic books.<\/p>\n<p>Her first set of comics were sold yesterday (Thursday) in Beverly Hills, Calif., making just under $800K for 86 lots.\u00a0 Some of the lots included, &#8220;The Avengers&#8221; No. 1, which went for $89,625, &#8220;Journey Into Mystery&#8221; No. 83, that sold for $77,675 and &#8220;The Incredible Hulk&#8221; No. 1, that made $58,256.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"n-MAGGIE-THOMPSON-COMICS-large570\" src=\"http:\/\/i.huffpost.com\/gen\/1475155\/thumbs\/n-MAGGIE-THOMPSON-COMICS-large570.jpg?6\" width=\"308\" height=\"129\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maggie Thompson is a well-known name in the comic book collectors\u2019 world.\u00a0 Since the 1940\u2019s she has acquired a collection of tens of thousands of comic books, keeping them in pristine condition.\u00a0 Now, at 70 years old, Thompson has decided &hellip;
