His family realized his artistic talent at a young age, and by 1868, he was attending the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungr\u00eda. He then continued his training at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes in Madrid, where he studied with Carlos de Haes, a Spanish-Belgian landscape artist. Haes introduced S\u00e1nchez Perrier to contemporary plein air landscape painting and afforded him the opportunity to visit various European art centers.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e1nchez Perrier began his career in 1877 when he submitted work to the regional art exhibitions in Seville and Cadiz. The following year, he made his debut at the national exhibition in Madrid with six paintings. Then in 1879, he won a gold medal at the Cadiz regional exhibition. <\/p>\n<p>Seeing local success, he moved to Paris and began working in the studio of the Barbizon painter Auguste Boulard (1825-1897). S\u00e1nchez Perrier also studied with <a href=\"https:\/\/rehs.com\/eng\/bio\/jean-leon-gerome\/\">Jean-L\u00e9on G\u00e9r\u00f4me<\/a> (1824-1904) and <a href=\"https:\/\/rehs.com\/Felix_Ziem_Bio.html\">Felix Ziem<\/a> (1821-1911); two painters with very different styles. The former known for French academic tradition and the latter for his naturalist\/impressionist approach. It was in 1880 that Sanchez-Perrier made his debut at the Paris Salon with three works.<\/p>\n<p>By the mid-1880s, with a well-established reputation, S\u00e1nchez Perrier&#8217;s works were being sold by Chaine &amp; Simonson, Goupil, and Knoedler. <em>L&#8217;Epte \u00e0 Gisors<\/em>, one of the artist&#8217;s more complex works, was initially sold by Knoedler in 1895 to a collector named Jackson.
