Gerhard Richter\u2019s <em>Gelbgrun (Yellow-Green)<\/em> grabbed the number two spot at \u00a310.9M ($15M) followed closely by Christopher Wool\u2019s <em>Untitled<\/em> at \u00a310.4M ($14.3M). Twenty-two additional works broke the \u00a31M mark,<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_29106\" style=\"width: 131px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/rehs.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3-wool.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29106\" class=\"wp-image-29106\" src=\"https:\/\/rehs.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3-wool-229x300.jpg\" alt=\"3-wool-229x300\" width=\"121\" height=\"159\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rehs.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3-wool-229x300.jpg 229w, https:\/\/rehs.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3-wool-768x1005.jpg 768w, https:\/\/rehs.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3-wool-783x1024.jpg 783w, https:\/\/rehs.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/3-wool.jpg 917w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 121px) 100vw, 121px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-29106\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wool<\/p><\/div>\n<p>including works by Warhol, Richter, Basquiat, Kippenberger, Polke, Richard Prince and Fontana. Of the 61 works, just 6 failed to find a buyer yielding a 90% sell-through rate\u2026 the most significant of the failures, Hockney\u2019s <em>Different Kinds of Water Pouring into a Swimming Pool, Santa Monica<\/em>, was expected to bring between \u00a36-8M.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the evening, the sale of 59 works totaled \u00a3109.2M ($150.6M)\u2026 14 of those works surpassed their estimate, with 28 (50%) falling into their estimate range and 13 finding a buyer below the range.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week also saw Sotheby\u2019s London take a crack at the Post-War and Contemporary arena\u2026 with 61 works up on the block and a presale estimate of \u00a385.9-118.7M, we knew they were not going to rival the prior night\u2019s showing &hellip;
