Hundreds of thousands of objects were stolen from Poland by the Nazi and Soviet forces who occupied it and the country keeps an eye our for works that appear on the open market. Unable to force their current holders to return them, Poland often finds itself having to buy the works at auction \u2013 sometimes from the descendants of those who stole them<\/em>. \u00a0Now that is pretty sad!<\/p>\n
