Gary Tatintsian, a Manhattan gallery owner, has filed a $62 million lawsuit to prove his innocence for allegedly peddling 35 fraudulent works to a Russian oligarch.\u00a0 \u00a0According to the New York Post, Tatintsian claims that he bought about 200 works from Lev Nussberg, a Connecticut art dealer, believing them to be authentic.<\/p>\n

Almost three dozen of the sold works were determined to be fakes and sent back for a full refund to Tatintsian.<\/p>\n

The case is set to be heard in October, where the Manhattan Supreme Court will determine whether the Russian oligarch, Tatintsian or Nussberg did the \u201coldest art scam in the book \u2013 the switcheroo.\u201d<\/p>\n
