The exhibition began on July 31st, and is running until October 26th, showing over a hundred of Mir\u00f3\u2019s works spanning a period of fifty years. Mir\u00f3 was a man of many talents; his works include paintings, sculptures, drawings, tapestries and others. But the exhibition has an interesting subject: matter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The title of the show is \u201cJoan Mir\u00f3: La Fuerza de la Materia\u201d. The Power of Matter. The show focuses on Mir\u00f3\u2019s interest in matter, his use of many techniques, his use of many mediums, his experimentation, and his artistic freedom when exploring the concept of matter. Mir\u00f3\u2019s works saw drastic change during his decades-long career, with him switching styles from Fauvism to Realism to Surrealism. During his lifetime, Joan Mir\u00f3 experimented with all kinds of artistic mediums in order to find purity in art. Through his experimentation, Mir\u00f3 not only created some of his most famous works, but also inspired many well-known artists, such as Alexander Calder, Mark Rothko, Arshile Gorky and Jackson Pollock.
