The LA Times recently reported on Christie\u2019s world breaking record for \u201chighest total ever for an auction company.\u201d\u00a0 In 2013 Christie\u2019s brought in a total of $7.1 billion worth of art, jewelry and wine, a 16% increase from the previous year.\u00a0 With offices in 32 countries, their expansion into Asia has driven up their market 32% along with a 30% increase of new buyers.\u00a0 Christie\u2019s also hold the world record for most expensive work of art sold at auction this year when, Francis bacon\u2019s \u201cThree Studies of Lucian Freud\u201d was bought by billionaire, Elaine Wynn for $142 million in November.<\/p>\n
