$100,000 worth of artwork was allegedly stolen from a Kings Point estate by Joselito Vega, a hired house painter, in 2012. \u00a0Vega was arrested after authorities were notified about video footage caught by a hidden camera during the filming of CBS\u2019s reality show, \u201cBrooklyn DA,\u201d which later aired over a three episode played out drama documentary on the DA Charles Hynes\u2019 office during his re-election.<\/p>\n

Vega claims he was approached by Michael Schulhof, the home owner\u2019s son, to sell the works. \u00a0One of which was insured for $200,000 and promised to the Guggenheim Museum upon his mother\u2019s death; an insurance scam.<\/p>\n

\n

According to Vega\u2019s lawyer, \u201cUp until his arrest, Vega didn\u2019t believe that there was anything wrong or illegal with this arrangement,\u201d his car was searched after the arrest containing proof of his story, yet the evidence in the vehicle as well as CBS footage was never turned over by prosecutors.<\/p>\n
