BIOGRAPHY - Jon Burns

I am an artist based in Cottage Grove Minnesota.  Originally I started out in the Horticulture industry working for Bailey Nurseries.  Later I decided to become an art apprentice and began studying at The Ateleir Studio Program of Fine Art in Minneapolis. It is there that I learned the skills of Classical realism.  This is the same type of training that was done by the old masters.  I enjoy painting many subjects but have recently on still life and landscape painting.  I do plan to expand into other subject matter as I grow as an artist.  My artistic goal is to capture the beauty of light and composition in my own way to share with the rest of the world.

Other art training includes Plein air with Scott Llyod Anderson,  Minnesota school of Botanical art and University of Wisconsin River Falls.
