BIOGRAPHY - Travis Seymour (Born 1976)
Michael Travis Seymour was born and raised in coastal North Carolina. His artistic education includes Bachelor of Arts degrees in Art History and Studio Painting from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
After completing his degree and contemplating the extent of further fine art educational opportunities available at the time in the US, in 2002 he left for Florence to learn classical drawing and painting techniques with Michael John Angel at the Angel Academy of Art. It was here while studying that Travis met partner and fellow artist Nancy Fletcher. Their shared passion for drawing and painting kept them in Florence for five years before a move to New York in 2007 introduced them to the Water Street Atelier and The Grand Central Academy of Art. It was while participating in the Hudson River Fellowship over the summer of 2007 that Travis met and began collaborating with a fantastic group of artists from the GCA over the next two years.
In 2009 Travis and Nancy moved to London where they have remained ever since - painting full time while maintaining a small atelier-styled studio where they continue with the tradition of passing down the knowledge they have acquired to artists of the future.
Travis' paintings have won numerous awards and can be found in collections throughout the United States and United Kingdom.
